The End of One Journey and The Start of Another

Sometimes things happen so fast, it leaves you wondering which path to take. Rob and I have been presented with a major, life-changing challenge that is both exciting and sad for us.

Let me start with the excitement…happy face
Several weeks ago, just before we were closing the deli for the summer season, a very well-dressed gentleman stopped in to try a pastrami sandwich. He loved his lunch, but he was completely taken with Rob’s iron sculptures on the property and he and Rob, aka Deli Dude, talked for quite some time.

One thing led to another and now, several weeks later Rob has received an artist’s commission of a lifetime! This man turned out to be the CEO of a Fortune 500 corporation and they have commissioned him to do a series of sculptures for their offices. This is a major commission and a great opportunity for Rob.

We are so excited that he has this opportunity to spend the next year or two working on this project.

So, I guess by now you figured out the sad part. Yep, we have to close The Deli Diva so that he can devote all his time to this project. sad face

Sure, I could run the deli myself, but without my better half, I just wouldn’t have my heart in it. Besides, I’m ready for some relaxation. 🙂

This means we will not be opening the deli on October 1st as planned, but instead we are putting the word out there that the location is available for lease to someone who wants to open a restaurant, commercial kitchen, or even another type of retail business such as a dress shop, antique shop, etc.

If any of you know someone interested in leasing the space either as a restaurant or something else, please have them give us a call at 727-588-1315 and leave a message so we can get back to them.

The past four years have been wonderful meeting and feeding all of you and we have made many great friends along the way. We will still be living here and hope to see some of you around town.

We wish all of you health, happiness and success in your lives and thank you for making The Deli Diva such a success for us.

thank you face

Thanks Joseph. It came as kind of a shock because everything is happening so fast. We had no intention of closing because business had been building each year, but this opportunity is something Rob just can’t pass up, getting his artwork out into a major market like that.

If you know anyone looking to lease a restaurant or any business, send them our way. We will take out the restaurant equipment if someone wants to put something other than a restaurant in there.

Hope all is well for you and we will still be here supporting the area. We aren’t going anywhere any time soon! 🙂

Thanks so much. It just came on so fast we are still kind of shocked, but it’s a very good opportunity for Rob and I was ready for a bit of a break anyway. 🙂 We’re not going anywhere, so I’m sure we’ll see you guys in the neighborhood sometime.
