Hot, Muggy & It’s Not Even Officially Summer Yet!


(**FLASH! We’ve got the triple dipped chocolate coconut macaroons today!!)

Back a few months ago when we were having a nice, looong, cold winter I was loving it! But I’ve lived here long enough to know that when we do have a nice, cold winter, Mother Nature makes us pay for it by giving us and even longer, opressively hot summer! Well, it’s here and it has been for weeks…and we’ve not yet officially begun summer…it’s still spring for crying out loud! How much hotter can it get?

Ok, enough of that rant! Can you tell that the heat makes me cranky? Yep!

Our Nathan’s hot dogs were a big hit yesterday. These are all natural, all beef hot dogs. If your’e looking for those plumped up hot dogs  full of red dye and water….you won’t find them here. Just good beef goes into these Nathan’s.  Although they’re not a regular menu item yet, we’ll have them every day as long as our customers are eating them up. 

For just $2.00 you get a hot dog and you can put on your choice of any or all of: mustard, catsup, chopped onions, sauerkraut and relish.  If you want to splurge, make it a chili dog for $2.50 or a cheese dog for $2.50 or shoot the works with a chili cheese dog for $2.75!  Oh my…so many choices! 🙂

Soup of the Day is Lentil. My apologies to our “meaty” soup eaters, but like your mother always said, “eat your vegetables…they’re good for you!”

TRIPLE DIPPED CHOCOLATE COCONUT MACAROONS! aka MOUNDS OF JOY (get the name play on Mounds and Almond Joy?) Our customers really love these and I have a feeling they may become a regular item sometime in the future. We’ve got them today. I just made up a fresh batch of these over-the-top chocoholics delight.  The last time I served them I had a nice compliment from a customer. He told me he has always been a Mounds bar fanatic and that these were the best he had ever eaten and that they put Mounds to shame!! Wow…that was some compliment. I definitely blushed on that one!  Are you listening Mounds company? You better watch out….the Deli Diva’s on your heels! LOL 😉

We’re looking to see lots of our favorite customers today….especially our macaroon lovers!!
