Ok, I don’t mean recreation, but rather RE-creation. I’ve been working with ideas to recreate foods in different ways. Afterall, isn’t that what a chef is supposed to do?
By now you are familiar with my re-creation soups such as Philly Cheesesteak, Beef Stroganoff so I thought it was time for another one! I’ve been on an Asian kick ever since working up our new Asian Chicken Sesame Ginger Salad, so I’ve been playing around with Asian flavors and spices and I came up with CHICKEN CHOW MEIN SOUP! It’s got nice big pieces of white meat chicken, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, noodles, veggies and a bunch of wonderful Asian spices in a nice broth. Come over and try it. If enough people like it, maybe it will become a regular item. Try it today for just $1.50.
Following along the path of re-creation, how about a recreation of the popular BLT sandwich? Today try the SBT. The Salami, Basil and Sun-Dried Tomato Sandwich. We pile our flavorful Genoa Salami on a roll, add fresh picked basil from our garden and top it with sun-dried tomatos in extra virgin olive oil. MMmmmm! Not on the menu, so if you want to try it…today is the day. $5.75
Now, to finish off this nice re-creation meal, I saved the sweetest for last! How about a nice slice of Baklava Cheesecake! Yes, you read that right. I’ve been making baklava and cheesecake, so the only logical next step was to combine the two and here’s the result . A flaky phyllo dough crust filled with walnuts and cinnamon then has the luscious cheesecake and honey filling poured into it and baked. It’s 50% cheesecake, 50% baklava and 100% delicious! This won’t last long, so don’t miss out on this one. $3.95/slice
