New Menu Item Today @ The Deli Diva

You’ve been asking and we’ve been listening! Today we are introducing our first of several new items we will be putting on the menu!

Greek Salad!

I told this story once before, but in case you weren’t listening…….

Our area of Florida is the only area in the country where you’ll find a greek salad with the nice surprise of that creamy mound of potato salad at the bottom and here’s why…

Years ago, the famous Greek restaurant in Tarpon Springs, Pappas, had a big catering order that cancelled on him at the last minute. He had pounds and pounds of potato salad he had made up for the event that he was now stuck with. What to do?

At the time, all meals were accompanied by a complimentary mini Greek salad. so he told the kitchen staff to put a scoop of potato salad under each Greek salad that was served. It was such a hit that the rest is history. If you don’t believe me, just try ordering a Greek salad anywhere else in the country….you won’t find any potato salad in it!

But you WILL in ours!    We start our Greek salad with a nice mound of potato salad, then cover it with lettuce, some tomato, thinly sliced cucumbers and red onions and top it off with a healthy heaping of Kalamata olives and feta cheese. We make our own dressing and put it on the side for you, so you can decide how much or how little you want. $6.75

You know we always have something you love, so stop on by and enjoy lunch with us!
